“O taste and see that the Lord is good How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

Psalm 34:8

It is so encouraging that we can come to know God through all five of our senses. We can taste, see, touch, hear, and smell the presence of God! His living and active word teaches us how we can use our senses to know Him more!

Through the sacrifice of His one and only Son, we can see how God has delivered us from the evil one, so we can literally taste and see redemption. As we commune and remember the complete and finished work of the cross, we taste the blood of Christ that was shed for us and His holy body that was broken for us. In John 6:56 Jesus said, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” People can see the transformation that Christ makes in our lives. We are living proof that He is alive and living in us just as His word declares!

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters The God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is majestic (Psalm 29:3-4).

Then the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel, Samuel! And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10). The Lord comes to us and calls us, just as He did to His servant Samuel. We can hear His majestic voice if we will attune our ears and spirit to Him and become His humble servants. Jesus tells us in John 16:13-15, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” Read the living word and walk in the ways of the Lord and prepare to hear His powerful voice! He will tell you of things to come!

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14). As we do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God, we manifest the sweet aroma of the knowledge of God everywhere we set foot (Micah 6:8)! For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing (2 Corinthians 2:15). Everyone can smell the perfume of Christ which is LIFE! Do we receive the fragrance of Christ as life, or reject it and put ourselves to death? If we are not walking in the ways of God, we have rejected His sweet scent and traded it for the odor of death. God has strategically placed us where we are so we can glorify Him and make the most of our actions and conversations! “…and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,…” (Acts 17:26). Let’s leave the aroma of Christ and life everywhere we go!

But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head (Psalm 3:3). The touch of God can be a touch of salvation and deliverance for those who seek Him. He lifts us up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He sets our feet upon a rock making our footsteps firm (Psalm 40:2). For those who have reached the end of their rope, let Him be the One who lifts each of you upward and sets you all on stable ground. No matter where we are, His word says, “If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me." (Psalm 139:9-10)

The very touch of God changes us so that we will never be the same. God gives us beautiful illustrations of those who yearned to touch the mere fringe of Jesus’ cloak because they knew they would be forever changed and made whole (Matthew 14:36)! Let’s reach out today and take hold of the hand of God in our lives!

You have a strong arm Your hand is mighty, Your right hand is exalted. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne Lovingkindness and truth go before You.

(Psalm 89:13-14)

Hallelujah and amen!!!
